1. God Speaks Through His Word

Many people wait for an audible voice from heaven, but God has already spoken—through Scripture.

📖 Hebrews 4:12 reminds us: “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword.”

The Bible isn’t just an old book—it’s God’s primary way of communicating with us today. If you feel distant from God, start by opening His Word. Ask Him to highlight a verse that applies to your situation. You may be amazed at how relevant His Word is to your daily life.

Action Step: Next time you read Scripture, pray:
“God, highlight what You want me to see today. Speak to me through Your Word.”

2. God Speaks in Stillness

One of the biggest reasons we struggle to hear God is constant busyness. Psalm 46:10 tells us:
“Be still, and know that I am God.”

In 1 Kings 19, Elijah expected to hear God in dramatic ways—fire, wind, an earthquake—but instead, God spoke in a whisper.

Why? Because God meets us in stillness.

But in our fast-paced world, stillness is rare. Distractions, notifications, and endless to-do lists make it easy to miss His voice. That’s why intentional silence is key.

Action Step: Set aside 5-10 minutes daily to sit quietly before God. Ask Him to speak, then simply listen. Jot down any thoughts or scriptures that come to mind.

3. God Speaks Through Wise Counsel

Often, we expect to hear from God alone, but He also speaks through others.

🔹 Proverbs 11:14 tells us: “Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.”

Godly mentors, pastors, and spiritually mature friends can confirm His direction in your life. They can offer wisdom, discernment, and perspective when you’re unsure what to do.

But be careful—not all advice is godly advice. We must seek counsel from those who are grounded in God’s Word and who genuinely walk with Him.

Action Step: Identify one or two godly mentors in your life. Ask for their guidance in your current season. Pay attention to confirmations that align with Scripture.
